Interim Estates & Property Services Lead

We are recruiting an experienced Interim Estates & Property Services Lead to provide senior leadership across a commercial and operational property portfolio during a period of transition.

This role has end-to-end accountability for asset performance, statutory compliance, income generation, tenant and landlord management, and service delivery. You will act as the organisation’s senior property lead, ensuring assets are safe, legally compliant, financially optimised, and aligned with wider commercial and strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the estates and property services function, setting clear standards for governance, compliance, and performance
  • Oversee landlord and tenant matters including lease renewals, rent reviews, service charges, insurance, tenant onboarding and offboarding
  • Manage income streams, service charge budgets, reconciliations, and rent arrears, working closely with Finance to ensure robust financial controls
  • Ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance across the property portfolio, including landlord and tenant legislation, health & safety, and licensing obligations
  • Lead property inspection programmes and compliance reporting in partnership with Facilities Management
  • Manage and support capital and compliance-related property projects, ensuring delivery to time and budget
  • Provide regular performance reporting on income, voids, lettings, arrears, and asset condition
  • Act as a senior advisor to internal stakeholders on property, estates, and asset-related matters
  • Build and manage effective relationships with professional advisors, managing agents, and external partners to ensure value for money and market benchmarking


About You

  • Significant experience in a senior estates, property, or asset management role, ideally within a complex, multi-tenanted or commercial portfolio
  • Strong working knowledge of landlord and tenant law, statutory compliance, service charges, and governance
  • Proven track record of managing property income, budgets, and performance reporting
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to balance risk management, compliance, and income generation
  • Confident operating in an interim environment and able to add value quickly


Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. RICS, IWFM, or similar) strongly preferred


This is a senior interim role suited to an estates leader who can quickly take control of a complex property portfolio, stabilise operations, and deliver strong commercial and compliance outcomes.
