Level 2 Teaching Assistant

A large and well-established three-form entry academy primary school in Hayes is seeking a committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team from the Summer Term 2026. This is a full-time, long-term role and a great opportunity to work in a well-resourced and supportive school environment.

The Role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils in the classroom and help ensure lessons run smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils within whole-class lessons, small groups, and one-to-one
• Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
• Supporting pupils who may need additional academic or behavioural support
• Delivering small group interventions under teacher guidance
• Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and participation in learning
• Supporting the creation of a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Assisting with classroom routines and behaviour management

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should hold a recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

Examples of suitable qualifications include:

• Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
• Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools
• NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning
• CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning

You should also have:

• Experience working with primary-aged children in a school setting
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Confidence working with pupils of varying abilities
• A commitment to supporting children's academic and personal development
