Locations: Luton & Watford (multi‑site role) Reports to: HR Manager

A well‑established care provider is seeking a proactive Maintenance Support Technician to ensure its properties across Luton and Watford remain safe, well‑maintained and welcoming. This is a hands‑on, varied role ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, problem‑solving and taking ownership of day‑to‑day maintenance tasks.
\n Key Responsibilities \n General Maintenance \n
\n \n General repairs including basic carpentry, plumbing and decorating
\n
\n Routine equipment and H&S checks , maintaining the Maintenance Handbook
\n
\n Minor repairs to fixtures and fittings
\n
\n Carpet shampooing as directed
\n
\n Proactive improvement suggestions to enhance buildings and grounds
\n
\n Driving the minibus when required
\n
\n Internal/external window cleaning within H&S guidelines
\n
Monitoring the Medicare system
\n
Monthly Health & Safety audits
\n
\n Outdoor & Grounds Care \n
\n \n Grounds maintenance : mowing, aeration, weeding, pruning, flower beds
\n
\n Seasonal clearing of leaves, snow, ice and moss
\n
\n Routine maintenance of grass‑cutting machinery
\n
\n Keeping external areas clean and tidy to a high standard
\n
Regular litter bin emptying
\n
Drain and gully clearing
\n
\n Deliveries & Logistics \n
\n \n Receiving deliveries of post, materials and supplies
\n
\n Distributing goods across sites with accurate record‑keeping
\n
\n Painting, Decorating & Room Preparation \n
\n \n Safe movement of furniture/equipment in line with manual handling regulations
\n
\n Preparing and decorating rooms , lounges and corridors
\n
\n Cleaning spillages promptly and safely
\n
\n Person Specification \n Essential \n
\n Experience in basic building repairs and grounds maintenance \n
\n
Strong ability to prioritise tasks \n
\n
Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation \n
\n
Willingness to undertake training and apply relevant regulations
\n
Ability to operate mechanical/electrical systems \n
\n
Clear, effective communication skills
\n
Physically capable of regular lifting and carrying \n
\n
Able to work independently across multiple sites
\n
Full UK driving licence
\n
\n Desirable \n
\n City & Guilds qualification
\n
Time‑served apprenticeship
\n
H&S Level 2 or 3 certificate
\n
NVQ in construction
\n
Current First Aid certificate
\n
\n
