About the organisation A well-established healthcare organisation delivering a wide range of clinical and corporate services across the NHS and wider health system. The organisation is entering a period of continued development and financial strengthening and is now seeking a Management Accountant to support robust financial management, reporting and decision-making. This is a key role within the finance team, offering exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to contribute to both operational delivery and longer-term financial planning. The role Reporting to the senior finance leadership team, the Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering high-quality management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support effective business decisions. Key responsibilities include :
Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary Supporting budget setting, forecasting and reforecasting processes Providing clear financial insight to non-finance stakeholders Monitoring cost pressures, income streams and performance against plan Supporting year-end processes and liaison with auditors as required Assisting with business cases, investment appraisals and financial modelling Ensuring strong financial controls and adherence to governance requirements
About you You will be a motivated and commercially aware finance professional with experience in management accounting, ideally within healthcare, NHS-related organisations or other complex service environments. Essential requirements :
Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or equivalent experience Strong experience producing management accounts and financial analysis Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues Good Excel and financial systems capability A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
Desirable :
Experience within NHS, primary care, healthcare or public sector environments Exposure to contract or service-based income models
