About the organisation

A well-established healthcare organisation delivering a wide range of clinical and corporate services across the NHS and wider health system. The organisation is entering a period of continued development and financial strengthening and is now seeking a Management Accountant to support robust financial management, reporting and decision-making.

This is a key role within the finance team, offering exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to contribute to both operational delivery and longer-term financial planning.

The role

Reporting to the senior finance leadership team, the Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering high-quality management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support effective business decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

* Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary

* Supporting budget setting, forecasting and reforecasting processes

* Providing clear financial insight to non-finance stakeholders

* Monitoring cost pressures, income streams and performance against plan

* Supporting year-end processes and liaison with auditors as required

* Assisting with business cases, investment appraisals and financial modelling

* Ensuring strong financial controls and adherence to governance requirements

About you

You will be a motivated and commercially aware finance professional with experience in management accounting, ideally within healthcare, NHS-related organisations or other complex service environments.

Essential requirements:

* Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or equivalent experience

* Strong experience producing management accounts and financial analysis

* Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues

* Good Excel and financial systems capability

* A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach

Desirable:

* Experience within NHS, primary care, healthcare or public sector environments

* Exposure to contract or service-based income models
