This includes advising on transactions, improving working capital, reducing errors, reducing costs and ensuring indirect taxes are handled correctly. They advise how indirect taxes such as value added tax (VAT), or goods & services tax (GST) impinge on the client's supply chain and financial and accounting systems.We are looking for a Manager to help us grow further our Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction VAT team.Your key responsibilitiesYour people responsibilities:Enthusiastic manager with ability to create, support, sustain and lead effective teamsEnsure delivery of quality work and take day to day leadership of delivery teamHelp people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staffContribute to people initiatives (including training and retaining tax professionals)Your client responsibilities:High level management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical / business driven approach takenManage indirect tax consideration as it relates to large and complex M&A transactionsBuild and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide exceptional levels of client serviceNegotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challengesBusiness development skills - able to identify opportunities to sell work by proactively managing existing clients and winning new clientsManage possible leads from other areas of the practiceBuild networks and relationships internally and externally for the team to leverage fromContribute to successfully extracting maximum value for both EY and clients from the tax services delivered whilst managing risk appropriately for both client and the firmSkills and attributes for successBusiness development skills, able to identify opportunities to sell workEffective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlinesExcellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral and in virtual and in-person environmentsTo qualify for the role you must haveSignificant experience in VAT from an accountancy or in-house teamATT / ACA / CA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Tax specialist qualification / or breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualificationIdeally, you'll also haveProject management skills, plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor own budgetWhat we offer youAt EY, we'll develop you with future-focused skills and equip you with world-class experiences.
