Job Description

About our client

Our client is a growing and well-established management consulting firm delivering complex transformation, change, and technology-enabled programmes across sectors. They work closely with senior stakeholders, combining structured thinking with pragmatic execution to ensure measurable and sustainable outcomes.

With a hands-on, delivery-focused model, their consultants embed within client organisations, partnering with leadership teams to translate strategy into practical delivery. As the firm continues to grow, they are seeking a Managing Consultant to lead high-quality client engagements while strengthening internal capability and team development.

What you will need

This role is generally suited to consultants with approximately 5 to 6 years' of experience; however, progression is determined by capability and readiness rather than tenure alone.

We welcome applications from individuals who align with the following requirements:

  • Strong general management consulting capability, with the ability to flex across project and programme delivery, change initiatives, and technology-enabled transformation
  • Well-developed consulting fundamentals including structured problem solving, meeting facilitation, stakeholder management, data-informed decision making, and clear written and visual communication
  • Confidence operating in client environments with senior stakeholders
  • The ability to lead others and take responsibility for outcomes, not just activity
  • Curiosity, ambition, and comfort working in a growing and evolving consulting business

The role

As a Managing Consultant, you will own the successful delivery of client engagements or defined workstreams while contributing to team leadership and internal development.

In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Own the successful delivery of client engagements or defined workstreams, ensuring outcomes meet agreed objectives, timelines, and quality expectations
  • Act as a primary day to day client contact, building trusted relationships and managing stakeholder expectations effectively
  • Shape solutions in partnership with clients, applying judgement to tailor approaches rather than relying on generic methodologies
  • Identify delivery risks early and take responsibility for resolution, escalating appropriately where required
  • Manage engagement level delivery economics, including scope, effort, and resourcing within agreed parameters
  • Contribute to proposals, scoping activity, and commercial discussions where appropriate
  • Balance quality, pace, and pragmatism in line with the firm's consulting model
  • Lead small consulting teams on client engagements, setting clear direction, expectations, and ways of working
  • Coach and develop consultants through feedback, role modelling, and on the job support
  • Contribute to performance discussions and capability assessments for team members
  • Make delivery and team level decisions within the scope of their engagements
  • Exercise professional judgement in client situations
  • Know when escalation is required and engaging senior leadership appropriately

The benefits

Our client offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, aligned with company policy and inclusive of pension, healthcare, leave, and family-friendly provisions.
