Jupiter Artland is seeking an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager with the ability to coordinate communications activity across internal departments, external partners and contractors. The role requires strong project management across exhibitions, learning programmes, events and visitor experience, gathering information from across the organisation, tailoring messaging for different audiences and ensuring the leadership team remains informed of communications progress at all times.
This is a senior role within a distinctive cultural charity combining world‑class contemporary art, landscape and education. The successful candidate will shape how Jupiter Artland is understood locally, nationally and internationally while supporting visitor growth and the work of the Jupiter Artland Learning Foundation.
The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer, has a Marketing Assistant direct report and sits within the senior management team.
Hybrid working available (up to two days per week from home).

The Role
The Marketing and Communications Manager leads organisational established narrative, campaign strategy and audience engagement across Jupiter Artland.
This role balances artistic sensitivity with commercial awareness and plays a key part in strengthening Jupiter Artland’s national profile as both a cultural destination and learning organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
Overall responsibility for delivery of marketing and communications activity across the organisation
Lead marketing strategy supporting a diverse range of departments exhibitions, events, visitor experience, food & beverage, retail, membership and seasonal programming
Plan and deliver cross‑channel campaigns and audience communications
On‑site Communications & PR point of contact, hosting journalists
Coordinate communications across exhibitions, learning programmes, public events and visitor activity
Work with partners, agencies, tourism bodies and cultural organisations on joint initiatives and brand collaborations
Oversee website content, e‑commerce performance & all social media activity
Support visitor growth and maximise marketing contribution to earned income in line with organisational ethos
Oversee production of visitor‑facing interpretation including signage, artwork information and printed collateral
Coordinate press trips, VIP visits and communications for major events including exhibition launches
Supporting internal teams with digital collateral
Manage external contractors and coordinate communications briefs across departments
Maintain oversight of communications timelines and keep leadership informed of project progress
Monitor analytics, audience insight and campaign performance against agreed KPIs – in weekly and monthly reporting
Represent Jupiter Artland within Scotland’s cultural and tourism networks
Contribute to senior management planning and organisational priorities
About You
We are looking for someone confident working within a contemporary arts environment who combines strategic thinking with strong delivery skills.
You will bring:
Experience in marketing and communications within arts, culture, charity or destination organisations
Experience delivering multi‑channel campaigns with measurable impact
Confidence working with creative and operational teams alike
Strong editorial judgement and audience awareness
Experience managing digital platforms and audience data insight
The ability to balance artistic integrity with accessibility and visitor engagement
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Experience working with – (Ideal but not essential)
Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint)
SharePoint document management and internal coordination workflows
monday.com for campaign planning and project coordination
WordPress and WooCommerce website and e‑commerce management
CRM and membership database communications
Meta Business Suite including paid campaigns on Instagram and Facebook
Hootsuite for social media scheduling and reporting tools
Website content editing and SEO basics
