Job Description

Are you a CAD professional who takes pride in technical excellence, enjoys coordinating complex MEP designs, and wants to play a key leadership role in project delivery?

We’re working with a well-established building services consultancy that is looking to appoint a proactive CAD Manager to lead the production and coordination of high-quality MEP drawings across a diverse portfolio of projects — from refurbishments to large-scale residential, education, and commercial developments.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll sit at the heart of the design process, ensuring that drawings and models are accurate, coordinated, and delivered on time.

  • Producing coordinated 2D MEP drawings to construction level
  • Translating engineers’ mark-ups into clear, high-quality CAD outputs
  • Managing drawings, models, worksets, and sheets to agreed standards
  • Coordinating across MEP, architectural, and structural disciplines

Leadership & Collaboration

This is more than a technical role — it’s a leadership position.

  • Working closely with UK-based engineers to manage workloads and deadlines
  • Coordinating and reviewing work from an overseas CAD delivery team
  • Mentoring CAD technicians and raising drawing quality across the team
  • Supporting engineers in design team and client meetings

Quality & Standards

You’ll be the guardian of drawing quality and process.

  • Upholding QA and BIM standards
  • Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, British Standards, and industry best practice
  • Managing document control, drawing registers, and issue records

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–10 years’ experience producing MEP drawings in AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of building services and construction coordination
  • Background in a small to medium-sized consulting engineering environment
  • Confident managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Detail-driven, organised, and commercially aware
  • A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills

Software

  • AutoCAD (essential)
  • Revit and Navisworks (preferred)
  • Microsoft Excel and Word (essential)
  • IES (desirable)

Why This Role Stands Out

This is a chance to step into a pivotal role where your expertise directly shapes project outcomes. You’ll have real ownership, influence over standards, and the opportunity to build strong relationships across UK and international teams, while working on technically interesting projects.
