Mechanical Project Manager
Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 DOE
Start Date: ASAP
Length: Permanent
Mechanical Project Manager required on a permanent basis for a well-established Mechanical Contractor based in London, covering projects across City of London, Westminster, Whitechapel, Marylebone and Camden Town.
My client is seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Mechanical Project Manager to join their growing London delivery team, working on a range of commercial mechanical projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected business with a strong pipeline of work and long-term stability.
Duties
• Manage, plan and deliver mechanical projects from pre-construction through to final handover
• Prepare, review and submit mechanical tenders, variations and cost plans on behalf of the client
• Take full ownership of project programmes, budgets, labour and subcontractor performance
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations, RAMS, and company procedures
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to Mechanical Fitters, Supervisors and Site Managers
• Coordinate with design teams, consultants and main contractors to resolve technical issues
• Chair and attend progress meetings with clients and internal stakeholders
• Produce and issue weekly and monthly project reports, monitoring progress against programme
• Proactively identify risks and implement corrective action to maintain programme and budget
• Oversee commissioning, testing and handover documentation
The Successful Mechanical Project Manager Will Have
• Proven experience working as a Mechanical Project Manager on commercial projects
• A strong trade background, ideally having progressed from Mechanical Pipefitter to Project Manager
• Extensive mechanical qualifications and solid technical knowledge of building services systems
• Experience managing site-based delivery teams and subcontractors
• Ability to work site-based for the duration of projects
• Willingness to attend multiple sites across London, with occasional travel outside London if required
• Strong communication, leadership and client-facing skills
