Job Description

Mechanical Site Manager

Location: Leeds

Employment Type: Permanent or Contract

Start Date: Immediate

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of mechanical services on a £15m office refurbishment project in Leeds. The role will involve managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.

This position is available on either a permanent or contract basis and offers an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all mechanical works on site from installation through to commissioning

Coordinate mechanical subcontractors and labour, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met

Work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, and other trade managers

Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, drawings, specifications, and method statements

Maintain high standards of health & safety, including site inspections and toolbox talks

Manage material deliveries, plant, and logistics on site

Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates

Identify and resolve technical or coordination issues proactively

Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities

Requirements

Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager on commercial or office refurbishment projects

Strong understanding of mechanical building services (HVAC, pipework, plant rooms, etc.)

SMSTS (or SSSTS with strong experience)

CSCS card (relevant discipline)

Good communication and leadership skills

Ability to manage subcontractors and work under pressure to tight programmes
