We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established water treatment facility. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a critical infrastructure environment, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant equipment that plays a vital role in supplying clean water and supporting environmental sustainability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a wide range of mechanical systems across the site. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced industrial setting where safety, compliance, and reliability are paramount.
The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will support both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown activities to minimise downtime and ensure operational continuity. You will work closely with operations and electrical teams to deliver safe and efficient maintenance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on mechanical plant equipment
* Responding to breakdowns and performing fault finding and repairs
* Maintaining pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, pipework, conveyors and rotating equipment
* Servicing and overhauling mechanical systems within treatment processes
* Assisting with installation and commissioning of new equipment
* Ensuring all work complies with health & safety and environmental regulations
* Updating maintenance records and reporting through CMMS systems
* Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
