Mobile Fabric Engineer / Joiner - Facilities Management Role Overview The Mobile Fabric/Joiner Engineer will deliver a wide range of building fabric maintenance, repairs, and minor installation works across multiple client sites. This role suits a versatile tradesperson with strong carpentry/joinery skills and a solid understanding of general building maintenance. The position requires regular travel, independent working, and a customer‑focused approach. Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance, including doors, locks, ironmongery, skirting, flooring, and general carpentry. Complete minor joinery works, such as fitting shelves, building small structures, repairing furniture, and installing fixtures. Undertake general building repairs, including basic plumbing, patch plastering, painting, tiling, and minor masonry. Respond to urgent maintenance requests, ensuring safe and timely resolution. Conduct site inspections to identify defects, safety issues, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and company procedures. Maintain accurate job records using digital systems and provide clear updates to clients and supervisors. Support small project works and refurbishments as required. Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment to a professional standard. Represent the company positively when interacting with clients and site users.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Time‑served Joiner/Carpenter or NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent). Proven experience in a facilities management, building maintenance, or multi‑trade role. Strong carpentry skills with the ability to deliver high‑quality workmanship. Competence in general building fabric tasks (painting, basic plumbing, patch repairs). Full UK driving licence. Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
Desirable Skills
Experience in commercial environments (retail, healthcare, offices, education). Knowledge of fire door installation/maintenance. Basic electrical awareness (e.g., safe isolation). PASMA, IPAF, or other access equipment certifications. Understanding of building compliance and statutory maintenance.

Working Conditions
