About your new HGV Service Technician role: Complete all types of service repairs in the most efficient manner without compromising quality, to the highest standards, including following diagnosis paths. Ensure that the customer is handled politely & professionally as appropriate Be prepared to work under your own supervision.  Attention must be paid to safe working practices at all times. Work closely with the Service Manager and Controller’s informing them of job status regularly Process all paperwork such as worksheets, weekly time sheets in a timely and legible manner Assist in the promotion of parts and service when appropriate. Assist in the control and reporting back of market intelligence.  This includes highlighting any technical problems, so that the information is fed back to the Competence Centres as quickly as possible. Housekeeping of all elements, including workshop, people, and equipment is of the highest possible standard, to portray a professional image. Develop a ‘can do’ attitude within the organisation, with a culture of right first time and own problems. Be willing to work as a team player, and help maintain a good team working spirit. Willingly carry out any other duties deemed appropriate by the company, which may mean the occasional on site attendanceThe Successful HGV Service Technician will require: Ability to develop strong customer relations Previous mechanical experience and a strong technical understanding NVQ level 3 qualification or City & Guilds 3 in heavy vehicle service, maintenance and repair.
