Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute National Sales Manager to lead our sales effort across the UK. This is a senior, field-based position that combines strategic territory planning with hands-on, direct selling. You will be responsible for driving national revenue, developing key accounts, and building the infrastructure and processes that will underpin LEC Robotics' commercial growth.

As one of our more senior commercial hires, you will work closely with the leadership team to shape go-to-market strategy, refine our sales approach, and, as the business scales, build and mentor a team of field sales executives beneath you.

There is limited existing pipeline. You will be building from the ground up, which means the opportunity and the reward is substantial.

Key Responsibilities:

National Sales Strategy

  • Design and execute a national sales strategy to drive all product revenue across all UK regions
  • Define territory structure, prioritise target sectors and geographies, and establish a scalable prospecting framework
  • Set and own national revenue targets, reporting directly to senior leadership on pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and performance against plan
  • Identify and prioritise high-value verticals including manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and industrial automation

Field Sales & Business Development

  • Lead from the front with significant time spent in the field, visiting sites, meeting decision-makers, and closing high-value deals directly
  • Build and develop a national pipeline from scratch through a combination of direct field prospecting, strategic networking, and industry engagement
  • Engage C-suite, operations directors, and procurement leads at target accounts, building senior-level relationships that drive long-term commercial value
  • Deliver high-quality product presentations and demonstrations, working alongside the technical team to address complex customer requirements
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial field prospecting through to negotiation, close, and post-sale handover

Commercial & Market Intelligence

  • Maintain a rigorous and accurate CRM in HubSpot, ensuring full pipeline visibility for the leadership team at all times
  • Gather and synthesise market intelligence on competitor activity, customer needs, and sector trends to inform product positioning and strategy
  • Work cross-functionally with the technical, product, and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately captured and delivered

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven track record in a senior field sales, national sales, or business development role, with demonstrable experience closing high-value B2B deals
  • Strong experience in territory management and building a sales pipeline from scratch in a new business or startup environment
  • Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to develop strategy and execute at a hands-on level simultaneously
  • Confident engaging and negotiating with senior stakeholders including directors and C-suite decision-makers
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or leading a sales team, either directly or in a player-manager capacity
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills with the ability to operate independently at a national level
  • Sales and negotiation skills, including experience in building client relationships and achieving sales targets
  • Effective Communication and Presentation skills to deliver compelling product pitches and navigate client interactions
  • Market Research and Analytical skills for identifying market trends and potential opportunities
  • Basic knowledge of AI, robotics, or automation technologies is preferred
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite
