Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse and distribution facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient operations across goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch, while maintaining high standards of health & safety, stock accuracy, and site security.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
Manage daily warehouse activities including goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch Ensure accurate and timely order fulfilment to meet customer expectations Optimise warehouse layout and processes to improve efficiency and space utilisation Stock Control Maintain accurate stock levels through cycle counts and stocktakes Investigate and resolve discrepancies Drive continuous improvement in stock management processesHealth & Safety
Ensure full compliance with H&S legislation and company policies Conduct risk assessments, audits, and site inspections Promote a strong safety culture across the teamSite Security
Act as key holder, responsible for opening and closing the site Ensure security of premises, stock, and company assets Respond to alarm callouts where requiredTeam Leadership
Supervise, motivate, and develop warehouse staff Provide training, guidance, and performance management Support recruitment and onboarding of new team membersCompliance & Continuous Improvement
Support and maintain ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001) Ensure compliance with relevant UK healthcare standards Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practiceRequirements
Proven experience in warehouse or operations management Strong understanding of warehouse processes, logistics, and stock control Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills IT literate with experience using ERP or warehouse systems Must live within 30 minutes of Tunbridge Wells (key holder requirement)Desirable
