A global market-leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimise its operational functions from its Poole facility.
Working closely with the Operations Director and senior leadership team, this is a high-impact role responsible for overseeing manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, planning, materials, and quality operations. Key responsibilities: • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategic operational plans and performance targets • Lead and coordinate manufacturing operations in line with company objectives and global quality standards • Drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing initiatives • Establish and monitor operational KPIs to improve performance and efficiency • Manage production scheduling, stock control, distribution, and logistics processes • Oversee the transfer of new product developments into full-scale production • Analyse inventory and delivery issues and implement effective solutions • Develop and strengthen the company’s supply chain to mitigate operational risks • Lead recruitment, training, and development of operational teams • Manage the company fleet process and implement operational improvements • Ensure safe, efficient working environments that support employee wellbeing and productivity • Work closely with Sales and other departments to forecast demand and support customer deliveries
Experience required: • Proven operational management experience • Experience within a manufacturing environment • Strong people management and leadership background • Experience driving operational change and process improvement • Understanding of purchasing processes and MRP systems
Skills required: • Strong leadership and decision-making ability • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to motivate, influence, and develop teams • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities • Resilient, proactive, and solution-focused approach • Strong IT skills including Excel and Outlook • SAP Business One knowledge would be advantageous
