A highly regarded patent practice with a strong presence in the UK is seeking to appoint a Senior Patent Attorney specialising in Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals. Based in Manchester, this role offers the opportunity to join a well-established team advising on complex, high-value patent work for an impressive portfolio of UK and international clients.

This position would suit an experienced attorney looking for a role that offers high-quality work, long-term progression and the chance to take on a senior position within a collaborative and forward-thinking practice. The role requires only one day per week in the office, supporting excellent work/life balance.

The role will involve:

• Managing a complex portfolio of chemistry and pharmaceutical patent work

\n
• Drafting and prosecuting UK, EP and international patent applications

\n
• Advising on patentability, infringement and freedom-to-operate matters

\n
• Supporting contentious matters and opposition proceedings where required

\n
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

\n
• Mentoring and supporting junior attorneys within the team

\n
• Contributing to business development and practice growth

About you:

\n
• Qualified UK and/or European Patent Attorney

\n
• Strong technical background in Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals or a related discipline

\n
• Significant post-qualification experience within private practice or in-house

\n
• Confident handling complex matters and advising clients independently

\n
• Commercial, pragmatic approach with strong communication skills
