Job Title: Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Location: London

Working Arrangement: Minimum of 3 days in the office required.

Requirements: Extensive payroll experience with a professional services firm.



Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Payroll & Benefits Specialist, this role is a key part of the London HR team.


The successful candidate will manage accurate payroll processing for staff and fee earners, ensuring the London office maintains a competitive and effective benefits offering. This position requires strong technical expertise, confidence in leading the function, a drive for continuous improvement, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service.



Key Responsibilities


  • Work with the Payroll & Benefits Specialist to deliver timely, accurate monthly payroll for the London office.
  • Ensure all payroll data from HR is captured and processed correctly.
  • Reconcile payroll adjustments, including benefit deductions.
  • Prepare monthly payroll documentation and verify data accuracy before submission.
  • Liaise with external payroll providers/platforms to ensure error‑free processing.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date documentation on international payroll procedures and records.
  • Provide payroll and benefits data to authorised Managers as required.
  • Stay updated on compensation and benefits changes to maintain payroll accuracy.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to employee payroll and benefits queries.




About You


  • Law firm experience is ideal.
  • Proven experience in UK payroll and benefits administration.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll, pensions and benefits legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence when dealing directly with employees and senior stakeholders.
