Payroll Specialist – Nordics | Media Business

London / Hybrid

5-month day-rate contract

Competitive day rate (up to £50k equivalent)


A global media business is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support the in-housing of payroll for Nordic countries as part of a wider HR transformation programme.


This is a hands-on delivery role, focused on supporting the transition of payroll into an internal operating model, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a smooth go-live across multiple Nordic locations.


Key responsibilities:


  • Supporting the implementation of in-house payroll for Nordic countries
  • Managing payroll inputs including starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses and statutory deductions
  • Ensuring payroll processes align with local legislation and statutory requirements
  • Working closely with HR and Finance to embed new payroll processes
  • Supporting testing, parallel runs and post-implementation stabilisation
  • Responding to payroll queries and supporting knowledge transfer
  • Documenting payroll processes to ensure long-term sustainability


About you:

  • Strong experience in Nordic payroll (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland) or European countries.
  • Background in multi-country payroll or shared services environments
  • Confident working on payroll implementations or transitions
  • Detail-driven, structured and comfortable working to tight timelines
  • Experience with payroll and HR systems (e.g. Workday, ADP or similar)
