The role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic PMO Manager to join the Programme Management Office for a large strategic programme. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of a high-profile, multi-year transformation spanning multiple business units. You will be responsible for the operational management of the PMO, ensuring governance, planning, and reporting across all workstreams, establishing best practices, supporting programme leadership, and aligning with strategic objectives. Your role is critical in ensuring the programme is delivered with discipline, transparency, and control.

What you'll be doing

1. PMO Governance
   Work closely with the Programme Director to manage the programme effectively. Run the day-to-day operations of the PMO, ensuring governance, controls, and reporting. Develop and maintain programme plans, RAID logs, dashboards, and KPIs. Ensure adherence to delivery frameworks, methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid), and quality standards.
2. Stakeholder Management
   Act as a key liaison between programme leadership, delivery teams, and senior stakeholders. Prepare and present high-quality reports and updates for steering committees and executive boards.
3. Resource & Financial Management
   Support resource planning, capacity management, and budget tracking. Monitor financial performance and ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
4. Risk & Issue Management
   Identify, assess, and manage programme-level risks and issues proactively. Ensure mitigation plans are in place and escalations are managed effectively.
5. Continuous Improvement
   Drive improvements in PMO processes, tools, and templates. Promote a culture of delivery excellence and knowledge sharing.

Our must-haves

• Over 5 years as a PMO Manager or Senior PMO Analyst in large-scale programmes, ideally within insurance or financial services, but not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of programme governance, portfolio management, project management best practices, and delivery methodologies.
• Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Proven experience with software delivery lifecycle.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work with people at all levels within and outside the business.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and working in matrix environments.
• Familiarity with PMO tools like MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, Power BI, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Creative, proactive, logical, and innovative mindset; not accepting the status quo.
• Highly results-driven with energy and determination to succeed in a fast-paced environment where leadership and response time are critical.

Our nice-to-haves

• Experience in insurance industry management of medium to large programmes and system integrations.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, SAFe are advantageous.
