Location: Grangemouth Manufacturing Site

Contract Length: 1 year


About the Role

Join the manufacturing team at Grangemouth, where we produce and formulate agrochemicals that help farmers feed the world. We are seeking a focused Process Engineer with strong technical grounding in chemical engineering principles to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across our facility.


Key Responsibilities

Process Design & Optimisation

  • Design and deliver process improvement programs for Active Ingredients / Formulation Fill & Pack capital projects.
  • Maximise capital and operating cost efficiencies while maintaining HSE excellence.
  • Support plant operations with technical troubleshooting.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide specialist process engineering expertise to project teams and production managers.
  • Act as process owner for assigned manufacturing areas.

Continuous Improvement

  • Challenge established processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Take part in cross-functional manufacturing support teams.
  • Deliver scientific work programs safely and efficiently across sites.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including Operations, Maintenance, HSE, and Quality.
  • Engage with global functions to share and adopt best practices.


Essential Requirements

Education

  • Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
  • Working towards or holding Chartered Engineering status (CEng).

Experience

  • 2+ years of practical process engineering experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in capital project or change execution.

Technical Skills

  • Strong theoretical and practical chemical engineering knowledge.
  • Competence with process simulation and design tools.
  • Experience with HSE risk assessment methodologies (HAZOP, LOPA, etc.).


Desirable Skills

  • Experience in agrochemical or specialty chemical manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with batch processing operations.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (DSEAR, COMAH, PER, etc.).
