About the role
Here in the Embedded Finance team, we're a start-up business within Consumer Lending tasked with building out propositions that solve customers’ financial needs, when they arise and wherever they are.
We want to tackle problems for existing franchise customers as well as those new to franchise, using outstanding LBG capabilities in ways that are co-ordinated into customers’ existing lifestyles. We’re bold and innovative in our use of data and technology in putting customers first, creating world-class customer experiences, to build balanced and long-term business models, adding to Group capabilities overall.

We seek people with a desire to learn, an ability to build thought-partnerships with a broad range of specialists across functions, and the patience and resilience to implement strategies that will evolve with changing customer, market, and regulatory contexts.
The purpose of the Product Owner is the overall ownership of a specific product which contains features, journeys, or technology components. This role is responsible for overseeing the release of incremental value within a specific product feature or technology component, with the primary aim of delivering value to customers and stakeholders by ensuring the team focuses on the right priorities.
What you'll be doing...
Lead Agile Delivery
Facilitate agile ceremonies and ensure alignment with the Platform Change Framework (PCF), promoting team adherence and continuous improvement.
Product Ownership & Backlog Management
Define and prioritise user stories and acceptance criteria, manage the team product backlog, and collaborate with Customer Journey Managers to enhance customer experiences.
Governance & Readiness
Oversee end-to-end product change governance and business readiness activities, including training, communications, testing, and implementation planning.
Cross-Platform Collaboration
Coordinate with Integrators on complex changes spanning multiple platforms and contribute to the overall product vision and roadmap alongside senior Product Owners.
Performance & Coaching
Support team OKRs, track product performance and benefits realisation, implement development frameworks, and mentor others across the organisation.
Problem Solving & Product Evaluation
Demonstrate resilience and creativity in resolving blockers, uncover emerging issues, and assess the feasibility of financial product proposals with guidance from senior colleagues.

What you’ll need:

Strong Collaborator skills - using personal impact and positioning to build and sustain long-term relationships. Resolving conflict, building consensus, and influencing good outcomes
Strong problem-solving skills – demonstrated by an ability to identify, analyse and solve complex issues efficiently and effectively. You’ll be capable of applying logical thinking and innovative approaches to overcome challenges and deliver practical solutions
Excellent communication skills – proficient in conveying complex ideas clearly and concisely, both in written and verbal formats. Able to tailor communication style to diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and understanding
Good knowledge and experience of implementing of agile frameworks, scrum or kanban
Excellent working knowledge and understanding of Atlassian suite, (Jira/Jira Align/Confluence)
Strong working knowledge of Platform Change Framework and experience implementing its principles and practices
Planning, Tracking, Reporting & Governance - Communicate regular updates to key stakeholders while resolving high priority issues affecting delivery, by making work visible in Jira. Using experience to address critical risks/issues/dependencies, taking responsibility for critical issues while ensuring resolution within agreed timescales
And you'll influence positively - demonstrating the right values and behaviours and encouraging this in team members
The skills and confidence to build effective and high trust relationships quickly and broadly across the wider organisation
