We’re hiring for a Quality Engineer to join a growing engineering firm based in Oldham, Greater Manchester. This is a key role for someone with a strong background in continuous improvement and change management, who can take ownership of shop floor sign-offs and play an active role in continuous improvement projects.

You’ll be joining a growing business with a clear focus on quality, performance, and long-term success.

What’s on offer?

* £45,000 per year (depending on experience)

* 7:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday / 3:30pm finish on Friday

* Salary bonus of between 5% – 10%

* Movement into a Quality Manager within 18 months

What will you be doing as a Quality Engineer?

* Performing root cause analysis and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

* Supporting the preparation and development of SOPs for audits

* Preparing the company for internal and external audits

* Interpreting engineering drawings and ensuring final product quality meets specification

* Maintaining accurate records and inspection traceability

* Inspecting fabrication, welding, and painting work on the shop floor with sign-off and rejection authority

* Working closely with production teams to identify issues and uphold quality standards

What do you need?

* Proven background in Quality Engineering with implementation of SOPs

* Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach

* Confident using IT systems to support documentation and audit preparation

What’s nice to have?

* Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methods

* Financial awareness (CapEx / OpEx understanding)
