Quantity Surveyor
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage cost control and contractual aspects from initial tender through to final account.
Working closely with site and contracts teams, you will occasionally attend site visits and commercial reviews to ensure projects are delivered profitably and on time.
Salary: Between £50,000 and £70,000 depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:30 (1 hour lunch break)
Location: Harlow, on site
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate monthly valuations and payment applications.
Report on project profitability, tracking costs against budgets.
Identify, assess, and agree variations and additional works.
Oversee cash flow, payment notices, and final accounts.
Review and administer subcontract and main contract conditions (JCT ).
Support tendering process and pricing of construction packages.
Advise commercially on programme and delivery strategies.
Assist with dispute resolution and commercial negotiations when required.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and internal procedures.
Maintain accurate and auditable commercial records throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Understanding of UK construction contracts (JCT).
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Commercially focused with strong attention to detail and excellent negotiation skills.
Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships.
Proactive, organised, and capable of working independently. Benefits
