Job Description
Quantity Surveyor\n\nLocation: Manchester\n\nUp to £50,723\n\n*We welcome applications from Quantity Surveyors at all levels of experience. Salary will be reflective of skills, knowledge, and experience*\n\nYou will be responsible for quantity surveying financial management for projects on the Great Places annual investment programme, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the appropriate quality standard.\n\nYou will be required to liaise directly with the key stakeholders within Great Places as well as contractors and consultants to ensure the successful investment programme delivery\n\nWhat you will be doing\n\nSupport overseeing the annual investment programme estimated value of circa £15m to £20m\n\nWork with all teams within assets, compliance, building safety and the wider business\n\nManaging external contractors and consultants\n\nAnalysing data as part of investment programme delivery to ensure appropriate investment decisions\n\nDrafting reports for presentation at leadership committee\n\nProvide technical advice in terms procurement, contract selection and appropriate contract terms\n\nEnsuring Final accounts are agreed and closed to allow works to be capitalised in line with deadlines\n\nWork with finance business partners to monitor and report expenditure and identify financial risk\n\nEnsuring compliance with legislative and statutory obligations\n\nPositive customer engagement\n\nRepresent Great Places at stakeholder meetings\n\nWhat you'll need\n\nEstablished quantity surveying experience and knowledge\n\nExperience working in property and construction with a good technical knowledge\n\nIdeally, experience of working in a social housing\n\nUnderstanding of building contracts, tendering, procurement and commercial management\n\nExperience of planning and projects management and managing programme delivery\n\nData analysis skills to prepare reports for senior management team\n\nA good knowledge of IT and systems.\n\nBuild and sustain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders\n\nAbility to work in a fast paced work environment, manage multiple activities and priorities to deadlines\n\nCustomer focussed with track record of high customer satisfaction\n\nWillingness to take on new responsibilities and a desire to develop new skills\n\nA degree in in relevant discipline\n\nProfessional qualification or working towards, MCIOB, MRICS, MAPM other as appropriate\n\nWhat we need from you\n\nA commitment to understand the challenges and opportunities that exist in the communities in which we work.
