With a head office in Nottinghamshire and projects across the East and West Midlands, our client delivers high-quality schemes in construction, fit out, refurbishment, and building envelope sectors, typically valued between £5 million and £30 million.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor ready to step into more responsibility, or someone looking for a change of pace with a dynamic and supportive contractor that values autonomy, trust, and career growth.\n\nThe Role – Quantity Surveyor\n\nAs a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be working alongside a Senior QS or Commercial Manager to manage costs, contracts, and relationships across multiple live projects. You’ll be hands-on in delivering commercial support, keeping financials tight and transparent, and helping projects stay on track and profitable.\n\nKey Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:\n\n * \n\n Assist in the commercial management of live projects across the Midlands\n\n * \n\n Prepare and monitor project budgets, cash flows, and cost forecasts\n\n * \n\n Carry out valuations and support cost reporting processes\n\n * \n\n Manage subcontractor procurement and payment processes\n\n * \n\n Work with JCT, D&B, and NEC contract frameworks\n\n * \n\n Support with variations, claims, and interim/final account agreements\n\n * \n\n Liaise with site and project teams to ensure financial accuracy\n\n * \n\n Help prepare monthly CVRs and financial progress reports\n\n * \n\n Attend client and internal progress meetings as required\n\n * \n\n Contribute to building strong relationships with clients and subcontractors\n\nWhat We’re Looking For in a Quantity Surveyor:\n\n * \n\n Experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor\n\n * \n\n Background in construction, fit out, refurb, or envelope works\n\n * \n\n Working knowledge of JCT, D&B, and NEC contracts\n\n * \n\n Ability to manage commercial duties across multiple sites\n\n * \n\n Based within commutable distance to Nottinghamshire or willing to travel in the Midlands\n\n * \n\n Competent with Excel and commercial management systems\n\n * \n\n Comfortable in both office and on-site environments\n\n * \n\n Strong organisational and communication skills\n\n * \n\n Positive, proactive, and ready to take on more responsibility\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence\n\nWhat’s On Offer:\n\n * \n\n £45,000 – £60,000 salary (DOE)\n\n * \n\n Car allowance or company vehicle\n\n * \n\n Company benefits package\n\n * \n\n Opportunities for career progression (pathway to Senior QS)\n\n * \n\n Supportive team environment with autonomy and flexibility\n\n * \n\n Projects that challenge, engage, and inspire\n\nIf you're a Quantity Surveyor who wants to grow with a respected Tier 2 contractor on exciting £5m–£30m projects — this role could be exactly what you’re looking for.
