Quantity Surveyor

We are working with a well-established regional contractor that is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a varied pipeline of projects across Yorkshire.

This opportunity would suit either a strong QS ready to step into a broader role or an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, supporting a mix of residential, commercial and industrial schemes. The role offers a flexible working arrangement combining site-based, office-based and home working.

The Role

You will provide commercial support across multiple live projects, working closely with project teams to ensure effective cost control, commercial reporting and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account

Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets and forecasts

Procurement of subcontract packages and negotiation of terms

Valuations, variations, change control and cost reporting

Managing subcontractor accounts and payment applications

Assisting with final accounts and commercial close-out

Working collaboratively with site, design and senior management teams

Supporting multiple schemes across different sectors as required

About You

Experience operating as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment

Background across residential, commercial and/or industrial projects

Solid understanding of construction contracts and commercial best practice

Able to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders effectively

Comfortable working flexibly across site, office and home locations

Requirements

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying

Strong UK main contractor experience

Available to start in February
