Reinsurance Technical Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Reinsurance Technical Accountant to join our dynamic Cash & Credit Control team in London. This is a key operational role responsible for managing cash and credit control across multiple entities and branches, ensuring timely premium collection and minimising bad debt exposure.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with Credit Control Managers across UK and Europe to produce accurate monthly and quarterly reporting for Underwriting, Finance, and Senior Management.
• Actively manage aged debt, unallocated cash, and stakeholder queries to drive continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Brokers, and third-party providers.
• Investigate overdue premium debtors, compile reports, and liaise with Underwriters to resolve queries and mitigate bad debt risk.
• Support automation initiatives and process efficiency improvements, including user acceptance testing.
• Reconcile broker statements, manage escalations, and ensure timely settlement of all debts.
• Monitor KPIs/KRIs and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, including Solvency II.

What We’re Looking For

• Reinsurance experience is essential
• Strong knowledge of the London Market and/or European Market
• Proficiency in XIS/Syndicate processes
• Excellent data processing and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
