We are seeking a newly qualified GP to join us through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS).Eligibility: GPs must be within 2 years of obtaining their Certificate of Completion Training at the point of recruitment.We are a friendly, caring & supportive 2 partner practice, with a list size of 10,500 patients.Main duties of the jobTo work as an autonomous practitioner, to provide general medical services to manage acaseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary caresetting. To ensure the highest standardsof care for all patients whilst adhering to the GMC standards for good medicalpractice.About usWe have a well-established clinical team consisting of salaried GPs, paramedic, advanced nurse practitioners, practice nurses and healthcare assistantExperienced and supportive management, administrative and reception teamsOur whole team take pride in delivering high quality, compassionate careWe work closely with our PCN colleagues and have successfully recruited additional practitioners to include paramedic, pharmacists, first contact physio, mental health practitioner, urgent care practitioners, dietician, nurse associates, care co‑ordinators and social prescribersWe are an accredited training practice and are involved in research as a practice and as part of our PCNWe encourage personal development of all our staff and you would have the opportunity to develop a specialist interest and future innovationJob responsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities:In accordance with the practice timetable,as agreed, the post-holder will:Makethemselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgeryconsultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home,checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperworkand correspondence in a timely mannerMakingprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers within theorganisationAssessingthe health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosedproblemsScreeningpatients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessDevelopingcare plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with currentpractice disease management protocolsProvidingcounselling and health educationAdmittingor discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other careproviders as appropriateOn arotational basis, undertake on-call surgeryRecordingclear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCollectingdata for audit purposesCompilingand issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoidinghand-written prescriptions whenever possible)Prescribingin accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) wheneverthis is clinically appropriateIngeneral, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal dutiesand responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care,including participating in all aspects of QOF, QIF and all enhanced servicesOtherresponsibilities within the practice:Awarenessof and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g.prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safetyAcommitment to life‑long learning and audit to ensure evidence‑based bestpracticeContributingto evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisationContributingto the development of computer-based patient recordsContributingto the summarising of patient records and read‑coding patient dataAttendingtraining and events organised by the practice or other agencies, whereappropriateParticipatein the educational and training events of the practiceParticipationin an annual individual performance review and appraisal within the practice,including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/orprofessional developmentTakeresponsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstratingskills and activities to others who are undertaking similar workPrepareand complete the revalidation process and external annual peer appraisalPerson SpecificationQualificationsFull GMC RegistrationGeneral Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT) within 2 yearsVocational Training Certificate or certificate of equivalenceNational Performers List registrationAppropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)Knowledge and skillsExcellent communication skills (written and oral)Clear, polite telephone mannerEffective time managementAbility to work as a team member and autonomouslyExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to follow clinical policy and procedureExperienceExperience of working in a primary care environmentExperience of continued professional developmentExperience of clinical audit and managing outcomesGeneral understanding of the GMS contractDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
