Carmel Medical Practice arecurrently recruiting for a Salaried General Medical Practitioner to helpdeliver our vision of high-quality medical services at our well-established,progressive, friendly practice team in Darlington. We are looking for 4-6 sessions, to work over Monday, Tuesday and Friday.We offer a flexibleapproach to division of roles and responsibilities within our small friendlyand experienced practice team. The clinical teams are also well supported by anexcellent administration and management team; this allows our GPs toconcentrate on clinical work.We provide anexcellent opportunity for General Practitioners wishing to join our highlyrespected and friendly team.We offer an excellent salary and employment benefits and NHS pension, including 6 weeks annual leave pro rata and 1 week study leaveRole progression and personal development opportunitiesWe provide peer support, educational opportunities and help towardsmandatory training and appraisal.Main duties of the jobProvide a range of medical services as defined in the core contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate.Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presentingproblems whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare works withinthe organisation.Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated andundiagnosed problemsScreen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in linewith current practice; disease management protocols, provide counselling andhealth educationWork within local policy for prescribingBe available and accessible to patientsMaximise effective use of current clinical computer systems. Recordclear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCompile and issue computer generated acute and repeat prescriptionsSupport the development of the practice in training GP's and nursing studentsProvide Free certification in line with Schedule 9 of the GMSregulations (1992)Provide emergency cover if neededAbout usCarmel Medical Practice has:11,800 patient practice in a modern purpose builtbuildingTeam comprising 4 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, a Nurse Practitioner, along with an experienced and diverse allied healthcare team. The Practice is also a GP Training Practice.InHouse Pharmacist team comprising of Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacy TechnicianRespiratory and Diabetes specialist nursesFantastic support in place both clinical and administrativeUses System One clinical systemGMS contractJob responsibilitiesBe involved in developing primary care services to meet the needs of thepractice population.Working in close collaboration with the practice team to ensure thataccess targets are reached.Work with the practice team to ensure that immunisation and healthinequalities targets as defined within the core contract are reached.Support health development and ensure health promotion work isundertaken to allow the practice population to make informed choices.ManagerialAwareness of, and compliance with, all relevant organisation policiesand procedures, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health andsafety and infection control.
