The Role - SEN Specialist Teacher - Luton
As a SEN Specialist Teacher, you will:
Deliver high-quality, nurture-based teaching to small groups and on a 1:1 basis
Support pupils with SEMH needs, focusing on emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Apply trauma-informed and attachment-aware practices consistently
Plan and deliver personalised learning aligned to individual EHCP outcomes
Work collaboratively with SENCOs, pastoral teams, therapists and external professionals
Create a calm, structured and predictable classroom environment where pupils feel safe and valued
You will play a pivotal role in building strong, trusting relationships that enable pupils to develop confidence, self-regulation and a renewed enthusiasm for learning.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold QTS or QTLS (desirable), or have substantial experience within an SENsetting
Have proven experience supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD, trauma or behavioural needs
Demonstrate resilience, patience and consistency
Be skilled in building positive, restorative relationships
Be able to commute to Luton
Be committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
Show enthusiasm for continued professional development
