About the Role
A specialist school is seeking to appoint an inspirational, motivated, and forward-thinking SEN Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team committed to transforming the lives of young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The role is primarily based within a specialist provision, supporting learners with a range of additional needs, including complex Autism (ASD). There may also be opportunities to work across other schools within the Trust, offering variety and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching to pupils with SEND on a 1:1, small group, and whole-class basis Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to individual needs Motivate and inspire learners of all abilities, celebrating progress and achievement Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school and wider Trust Contribute to an inclusive, therapeutic learning environment Support and, where appropriate, lead staff to deliver effective specialist provision Play an active role in the wider school community and contribute positively to its development
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential Proven experience teaching children with SEND in either a special or mainstream setting Strong understanding of how children learn and develop Experience working with pupils with complex ASD Ability to plan, assess, and track progress effectively Experience in monitoring and evaluating teaching and learning standards Ability to lead, support, and develop colleagues in a collaborative manner Passionate about inclusion and committed to the SEND agenda Flexible, resilient, and able to adapt to a dynamic environment
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
QTS Recent and relevant professional development Experience teaching children with SEND Strong curriculum knowledgeDesirable:
SEN qualification or additional training Honours degree
