SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Colne , starting ASAP . This is a part-time , temporary position providing long-term support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, nurturing environment and strong commitment to supporting every childs individual needs.
Key responsibilities
Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Implement strategies and support plans set by the class teacher and SENCO
Assist with learning, communication, social skills and emotional regulation
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
Help maintain a calm, safe and engaging classroom environment
Pre-requisites
Relevant qualification in education, childcare or SEND support
Proven experience supporting pupils with special educational needs
Strong knowledge of SEND strategies and effective classroom support methods
Two education or school-based references
A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
