SEND Teaching Assistant - Specialist Provisions (Preston, Lancashire)

Location: Preston, Lancashire Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (08:30am - 15:30pm), Term Time Only Pay: £106 - £115 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join specialist education provisions in Preston. This full-time role involves supporting children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access learning and develop essential life skills in a nurturing, structured environment.

You'll work alongside teaching staff to provide 1:1 and group support, with some students requiring personal care, so the ideal candidate must feel confident offering hands-on assistance where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1, small-group, and general class basis

Provide personal care support when required

Assist with individual learning plans and tailored support strategies

Encourage communication, independence, and positive behaviour

Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff

Requirements:

Must have 24 months of employment references with no large unexplained gaps
