SEND Teaching Assistant - Specialist Provisions (Preston, Lancashire)

Location: Preston, Lancashire
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (08:30am - 15:30pm), Term Time Only
Pay: £106 - £115 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join specialist education provisions in Preston. This full-time role involves supporting children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access learning and develop essential life skills in a nurturing, structured environment.

You'll work alongside teaching staff to provide 1:1 and group support, with some students requiring personal care, so the ideal candidate must feel confident offering hands-on assistance where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1, small-group, and general class basis

Provide personal care support when required

Assist with individual learning plans and tailored support strategies

Encourage communication, independence, and positive behaviour

Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff

Requirements:

Must have 24 months of employment references with no large unexplained gaps

Must hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (UDS) or be willing to apply and pay for one

Experience supporting individuals with additional needs (professional or personal) is desirable

A patient, caring, and proactive approach
