SEND Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across a range of school settings. This is a rewarding role for individuals who are passionate about inclusion and supporting children to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties)

Support pupils with academic tasks, social interaction, and emotional regulation

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support plans

Assist with behaviour management using positive strategies

Support personal care where required

Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times

Requirements

Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based or similar settings)

Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable (but not essential)

Relevant qualifications (CACHE, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, or equivalent)

Experience supporting challenging behaviour or complex needs
