Free CPD and Constant Support with interviewing and teachingEmpowering Learning are working with a two-form entry primary school in the borough of Hackney, who are recruiting for a SEND teaching assistant for a Year 2 class. This will be supporting a child with autism and ADHD who has limited language and is echolalic. The school are looking for someone who is calm, child-centred and skilled to support a child with visuals and work in a team. The child struggles with attention so need someone who is focused and can help the child with his schoolwork as well as communicating with his peers. There will also be a requirement to support other students in small groups. The school is happy and welcoming with a real family community and strong transport links.

The role will be an ASAP start, and they are looking for somebody who can commit to the role until at least July 2026. Competitive salary is being offered, depending on experience.

You must have the following qualities to be considered for this role:

Experience of working in a Primary school
Experience of working with SEND and working 1-1 and in small groups
Very good written and spoken English and Maths
A friendly and helpful manner
