Senior Business Development Manager - Corporate (FTC)


A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join its London office on a 14-month maternity cover contract. Supporting a high-performing Corporate business group, this is a strategic and hands-on role driving revenue growth, client development, and market positioning.


Reporting to the Head of BD the role partners closely with senior stakeholders to shape and deliver business development strategy across Corporate and associated practices. The successful candidate will lead on planning, client targeting, and high-value opportunities while managing and developing a small team.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead BD strategy and planning for the Corporate group, aligning with wider firm objectives
  • Drive client development, targeting programmes, and revenue growth initiatives
  • Manage key bids, proposals, and pricing strategy
  • Oversee thought leadership, campaigns, and profile-raising activity
  • Advise partners on market opportunities and client relationship strategies
  • Lead and develop a team of BD professionals
  • Deliver reporting and insights to support strategic decision-making


About you:

  • Experienced BD leader with a strong track record in legal or professional services
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive commercial outcomes
  • Skilled across bids, client development, and strategic planning
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities
  • Proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable operating at pace
