Role: Senior Civil Engineer\n\nSalary: Competative\n\nLocation: Leicestershire\n\nBenefits – 25 days plus 8 days bank holidays (3 to be taken during Christmas Period) plus one day for your Birthday, Pension, Bonus paid depending on performance at Director's discretion and career development\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to take a leading role in delivering a diverse range of civil engineering schemes. As part of our clients Civils Team, you will have the opportunity to work on a broad portfolio of projects, from small highway improvements to large-scale residential and commercial developments. Typical projects include designing a variety of access junctions as well as associated civil infrastructure.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growth of a strategically important sector within our independent consultancy.

Our client is currently delivering projects across both public and private sectors, ranging from small improvements to multi-million-pound multi-storey development sites.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Provide design expertise across a wide range of civil engineering projects.\n\n * Ensure designs are delivered in line with current legislation, best practice, and client/local authority requirements.\n\n * Deliver projects from concept development through to detailed design.\n\n * Prepare drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, road alignments (vertical and horizontal), and access junction designs.\n\n * Manage and deliver Section 278 and Section 184 detailed designs.\n\n * Provide technical delivery support and mentor junior engineers.\n\n * Produce technical reports and documentation to a high standard.\n\n * Support project delivery, including monitoring budgets, timescales, and quality.\n\n * Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.\n\n * Support bid and proposal preparation where required.\n\nAbout You\n\nYou will be an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong technical background and a proven track record in infrastructure design.\n\nEssential skills and experience:\n\n * Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).\n\n * Minimum 8 years’ post-graduate experience in civil/highway design.\n\n * Proficient in road design (vertical and horizontal alignments).\n\n * Strong knowledge of drainage design, strategies, and flood risk assessments.\n\n * Experience in delivering Section 278 and 184 schemes.\n\n * Knowledge of local authority and Highways processes and requirements.\n\n * Experience with design standards (DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20, NRSWA, etc.).\n\n * Familiarity with adoption agreements (S278, S38, S104) and associated legal processes.\n\n * Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Vehicle Tracking, KeyLINES/SIGN/POST, Flow or MicroDrainage.\n\n * Strong communication, organisation, and time management skills.\n\n * Ability to mentor junior team members and support their development.\n\n * Experience in managing tasks to deliver projects on time and within budget.\n\nDesirable skills and experience:\n\n * Chartered status (ICE, CIHT, CIWEM) or working towards it.\n\n * Experience in public realm design, active travel and cycling schemes, or major highways.\n\n * Utilities coordination and site supervision/monitoring experience.\n\n * Ability to prepare proposals and support business development.\n\nWhy Join?\n\n * Opportunity to work on varied and exciting projects across multiple sectors.\n\n * Independent consultancy with a collaborative and supportive culture.\n\n * Clear pathway for career development and progression.\n\n * Chance to mentor junior staff and shape a growing team
