Cloud Architect – Azure Migration Programme


6-Month Initial Contract | Competitive Day Rate | Insurance Industry


We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead a strategic on-premises to Microsoft Azure migration programme within a large insurance organisation.


This is a key contract role responsible for defining the target-state Azure architecture, establishing secure enterprise landing zones, and providing technical leadership across the migration lifecycle. The successful candidate will operate at design authority level while remaining hands-on where required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the Azure target architecture and migration strategy
  • Design and implement enterprise-scale landing zones
  • Lead workload assessment, migration planning, and wave execution
  • Architect secure, resilient, and compliant cloud solutions
  • Establish governance, security, and regulatory guardrails aligned to insurance industry standards
  • Design hybrid connectivity, networking, and identity integration
  • Drive Infrastructure as Code and automation best practices


Required Experience

  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale Azure migration programmes
  • Strong expertise across Azure networking, compute, storage, identity, and security
  • Experience in regulated environments (insurance or financial services preferred)
  • Deep understanding of cloud governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep, Terraform)
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
