About the opportunity We are seeking a highly experienced consultancy resource to provide leadership in cost and project controls for multi‑billion‑pound capital projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in refining current and establishing new robust processes to ensure effective delivery and governance across the projects. Key Responsibilities
Cost and Schedule Integration: Support implementation of integrated cost and schedule capabilities to enable accurate forecasting, performance tracking, and reporting. Controls and Approval Processes: Support the design and embedding of refined governance structures for cost approvals, budget management, and financial compliance. Change Control Management: Support / maintain rigorous change control processes to manage scope, cost, and schedule variations effectively. Risk and Opportunity Management: Support the integration of risk and opportunity reporting within standardised reporting structures. Performance Measurement: Drive performance metrics to monitor progress and drive accountability. Process Development and Continuous Improvement: Refine existing processes and suggest any best practices, ensuring scalability and sustainability. Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure transparency and alignment on objectives.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Proven track record in cost and project controls leadership on major infrastructure or capital projects (multi‑billion‑pound scale). Expertise in cost modelling, forecasting, and reporting. Strong knowledge of schedule integration techniques and project planning tools. Demonstrated ability to design and implement governance and approval frameworks. Experience in change control and risk management within complex programmes. Familiarity with regulatory requirements for large‑scale projects. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
