Senior Cost / Project Controls Consultant Soben is an award‑winning construction consultancy that recently became part of Accenture’s Infrastructure and Capital Projects practice. The role offers the opportunity to work on multi‑billion‑pound capital projects and to apply technical expertise in cost and commercial management at scale. About the Opportunity We are seeking a highly experienced resource to provide leadership in cost and project controls for large infrastructure and capital projects. The successful candidate will refine existing processes, implement governance and approve strategies, and drive performance measurement across programmes. Key Responsibilities
Cost and Schedule Integration: support implementation of integrated cost and schedule capabilities for forecasting and reporting. Controls and Approval Processes: help design and embed governance structures for cost approvals, budget management and financial compliance. Change Control Management: maintain rigorous processes to manage scope, cost and schedule variations. Risk and Opportunity Management: integrate risk and opportunity reporting into standardised reporting structures. Performance Measurement: drive metrics to monitor progress and accountability. Process Development and Continuous Improvement: refine existing processes and propose best practices for scalability. Stakeholder Engagement: work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure transparency and alignment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Proven track record in cost and project controls leadership on major infrastructure or capital projects at a multi‑billion‑pound scale. Expertise in cost modelling, forecasting and reporting. Strong knowledge of schedule integration techniques and project planning tools. Ability to design and implement governance and approval frameworks. Experience in change control and risk management within complex programmes. Familiarity with regulatory requirements for large‑scale projects. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
