The mandate
You own the quality and clarity of design output.
That means:
Producing accurate, buildable structural steel drawings
Anticipating issues before they reach site
Taking ownership of complex packages, not just isolated details
Working closely with fabrication and installation teams to ensure what's drawn can actually be built
What success looks like
Fabrication-ready drawings that don't come back with questions
Fewer RFIs, fewer site clashes, fewer delays
Programmes protected because design is right first time
Engineers, project managers, and site teams trust your output
Who succeeds here
You are likely someone who:
Has strong experience producing structural steel or architectural metalwork drawings
Understands fabrication, tolerances, and site realities
Can work at pace without sacrificing accuracy
Takes accountability for your work from concept to installation
Communicates clearly with engineers, PMs, and shop floor teams
Doesn't need chasing, micromanaging, or hand-holding
