Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum

About the Role
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you'll be responsible for leading month-end processes, overseeing year-end statutory accounts, managing tax and treasury functions, and identifying opportunities for improvement across financial systems and processes. Youll collaborate across finance teams, act as a key contact for auditors and external stakeholders, and ensure all financial practices meet statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the month-end close process and timetable delivery
Review and improve financial accounting processes and controls
Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and statutory year-end activities
Oversee VAT, corporation tax, PAYE, and Gift Aid submissions
Manage treasury functions, including donor payments and banking arrangements
Serve as a super-user of finance systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics BC)
Act as a liaison with auditors, HMRC, and financial institutions
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and compliance
Role-specific knowledge & skills
Essential:
Qualified Accountant or passed finalist (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
Strong financial accounting and treasury management experience
Advanced Excel skills and solid data management abilities
Knowledge of UK GAAP, Charity SORP, and tax regulations
Proven year-end and audit delivery experience
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Desirable:
Experience in systems implementation and process improvement
