Job Title: Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience)

The Role
A well-established consultancy based in Birmingham is looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to play a key role in delivering a diverse range of projects across infrastructure, commercial, and residential sectors.

This position offers a strong balance of technical delivery, project management, and team support. You'll take ownership of projects from early-stage ground investigation through to detailed design, while also mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the wider growth of the team.

Key Responsibilities

Managing geotechnical projects from inception to completion
Designing foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks solutions
Producing and reviewing interpretative geotechnical reports
Overseeing and specifying ground investigations
Carrying out geotechnical analysis (e.g. slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity)
Acting as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders
Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
Assisting with project planning, resourcing, and commercial aspectsRequirements

Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related field
5-10+ years' UK consultancy experience
Strong technical background in geotechnical design and analysis
Proven experience managing projects and client relationships
Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE or Geological Society)
Good understanding of UK standards, including Eurocodes
Full UK driving licenceWhat's on Offer
