The role An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Counsel, Product & Regulatory to join a high-impact legal team operating at the forefront of the gaming and digital regulatory landscape. Acting as a key advisor to product and operations teams globally, this role will combine regulatory intelligence with hands-on legal support, ensuring the business can innovate confidently while navigating complex and rapidly evolving legal frameworks. Key responsibilities
Lead regulatory advisory across global markets, tracking and interpreting developments in mobile gaming, including loot boxes, virtual currencies, and consumer protection frameworks Provide strategic guidance on major regulatory regimes including the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), Digital Markets Act (DMA), EU AI Act, and UK Online Safety Act Advise on trust and safety requirements, including content moderation, duty of care, and protections for younger users Develop and lead the organisation’s approach to global age assurance and verification requirements Support product and operations teams throughout the product lifecycle, advising on monetisation models, in-game features, and advertising frameworks Provide legal input on AI-driven features, personalisation, and data usage in collaboration with privacy specialists Advise on intellectual property strategy, including clearance, licensing, enforcement, and infringement risk Support commercial agreements with IP implications, including co-development and licensing arrangements Develop scalable legal guidance, playbooks, and training for non-legal stakeholders Monitor regulatory enforcement trends and ensure early visibility of risks and opportunities Engage with regulators, industry bodies, and external counsel where required Mentor junior team members and manage external legal advisors
About you
Qualified lawyer with 8+ years post-qualification experience, including strong in-house exposure Demonstrable experience advising within mobile gaming or consumer-facing digital product environments Deep understanding of global regulatory frameworks impacting digital platforms and gaming Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives Confident working at pace, providing clear and pragmatic advice in evolving regulatory contexts Solid grounding in intellectual property law as it applies to digital content and games Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy
