Senior Mechanical Engineer\n Location: Flexible (UK offices)\n Salary: Competitive + benefits\n Overview\n We are working with a leading global consultancy delivering sustainable design, engineering and advisory solutions across the built and natural environment. With a strong international presence and a focus on improving quality of life, they are looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their established Design team.\n This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile, technically challenging projects across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and data centres.\nThe Role\n As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and efficient mechanical building services solutions. You will take ownership of project elements while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure fully integrated designs.\n You will also contribute to client engagement, technical delivery, and team leadership, helping to drive quality and consistency across projects.\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead the mechanical design on projects or packages of larger schemes\nDeliver projects in line with financial, quality and programme targets\nCollaborate with other disciplines to ensure coordinated design solutions\nProduce and review detailed technical designs and specifications\nSupport and contribute to technical proposals and bids\nPresent design solutions and attend client meetings\nManage and mentor junior engineers and technicians (typically teams of up to 5)\nUndertake design reviews and ensure compliance with relevant standards\nRequirements\n\nDegree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar (BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc)\nChartered Engineer (CEng) status\nProven experience within a building services consultancy environment\nStrong technical knowledge across mechanical building services systems\nAbility to contribute to broader building services design (including awareness of electrical systems)\nExperience leading projects or design packages\nStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills\nWhat’s on Offer\n\nOpportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects across multiple sectors\nFlexible working environment supporting work-life balance\nStructured career development and clear progression pathways\nOngoing learning and development programmes\nInclusive and collaborative team culture\nEmployee wellbeing support, including access to confidential assistance programmes\nDiversity & \n This organisation is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
