Nuclear Safety Senior Consultant


Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)
Location: Remote / Hybrid (UK-based)
Employment Type: Permanent | Full-time

The Role


As a Senior Nuclear Safety Consultant, you will play a key role in leading the development of safety cases and safety justification strategies. You'll work collaboratively with clients, regulators, and partner organisations to deliver high-quality safety solutions and provide trusted advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead nuclear safety justification strategies.
  • Undertake detailed hazard and risk analyses, including deterministic, probabilistic and severe accident assessments.
  • Derive and demonstrate compliance with nuclear safety requirements.
  • Develop safety cases, risk management plans, and perform independent safety assurance reviews.
  • Lead periodic safety reviews of systems and facilities.
  • Liaise effectively with regulators and stakeholders.
  • Support, mentor and develop junior team members.
About You


You'll bring a deep understanding of nuclear safety principles and proven experience in delivering safety documentation and analysis for complex nuclear systems or facilities.
Essential Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in nuclear safety case development.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and/or Authorising Conditions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • UK national with eligibility to obtain security clearance.


Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with the UK Engineering Council. (not essential)
  • Previous consultancy experience.
