Job DescriptionSenior Planner / Planning Manager Location: Glasgow, Warwick, or London (with travel to site as required) Project Context: The Great Grid Upgrade ( Grid) Role PurposeTo act as the technical lead for scheduling and critical path management across high-voltage infrastructure, substation, and civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for ensuring project delivery remains within defined time parameters, providing actionable insight to project boards, and mitigating risk within complex delivery environments. Key Responsibilities
\n \nIntegrated Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and own high-fidelity integrated project schedules (Primavera P6) for complex substation and civils works. \n
\nCritical Path Management: Identify bottlenecks, critical path delays, and resource constraints, and proactively provide recovery strategies to the Project Board. \n
\nContractual Administration: Operate within NEC3/NEC4 (Option C) contract environments, supporting the commercial team with change control, compensation events, and time impact analysis (TIA). \n
\nPerformance Analytics: Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) to forecast delivery outcomes and report on performance variances to senior stakeholders. \n
\nLifecycle Oversight: Support the entire project lifecycle, from planning and procurement through to contract delivery, handover, and close-out. \n
\nStakeholder Liaison: Clearly and punctually communicate vital scheduling information to senior managers and project teams using complex digital systems. \n
Requirements
\n \nProfessional Experience: Proven track record in infrastructure project delivery, specifically within the power, tunnelling, or major civil sectors. \n
\nTechnical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 is essential. \n
\nContractual Knowledge: Extensive experience with NEC3/NEC4 Target Cost (Option C) contracts. \n
\nSoft Skills: Ability to remain calm, analytical, and decisive under pressure when faced with high-risk, politically charged, or time-sensitive operations. \n
\nEducation/Certification: Professional qualifications (MRICS, MCInstCES, or equivalent) are highly advantageous. \n
